Burkina Faso - YES IT IS a COUNTRY! Did you know...

Burkina Faso -
Primarily special needs children are available for adoption!

Ten year old Marie has been lost in the Social Services system. Because she is an albino, she has suffered physically and has faced much rejection.
She cannot see well enough to do the work and there is no program in place to help her succeed. Although some effort has been made to correct and to protect her eyes, the care available here is not adequate for her needs. She also suffers greatly due to the harsh African sun.

Adoptions from Burkina to U.S. per year:
2011 -2
2009 -2
2008 -1
2007 -1
2006 -1
2001 -1

Karim NEEDS A FAMILY NOW!Karim was born pre-maturely weighing only 1800 grams at birth. Because he is so tiny and not very strong, he is being fed by a feeding tube. He is only 1 month old!

Here is Christina...she needs a family!   She has cerebral palsy!  She has not yet had her first birthday!  She is alone!

Sylvain is 4 years old. He does not see well and the specialists here cannot give a clear diagnosis!  HE needs a family!

This is precious OLIVIA...she is soon turning 5 and she has a severe form of Cerebral palsy and needs a family to bring her home!!

My friend, Ruth Cox, http://sheltering-wings.org/ shared with me that these children are available for adoption and they are all in great need! I am able to photo list these children because I do not work in any professional capacity with Burkina or an agency that works with Burkina!  I am simply burdened for these children since the first day I saw OLIVIA's photo! She is so much like our Avigayil and it breaks my heart that she has no Mommy and Daddy to love her and care for her and to feed her ice cream like Avigayil!

Don't you just want to love these children so that the sad eyes can be replaced with joy and belonging!  OH HOW MY HEART ACHES FOR EACH OF THESE CHILDREN!

Sheltering Wings is:
a Christian mission organization dedicated to impacting the world for Jesus Christ.   Their projects include an orphanage, school, and clinic in Burkina Faso, West Africa, as well as working with other missionaries around the world.   Their website says "Jesus gave his life for us, so we seek to give our lives back to Him."

These children all need to know this kind of LOVE!

PLEASE BE A VOICE FOR THESE VOICELESS CHILDREN! Proverbs 31: 8 - 9

Some facts about Burkina:

Burkina Faso has one of the lowest GDP per capita figures in the world: $1,200.[16] Agriculture represents 32% of its gross domestic product and occupies 80% of the working population. It consists mostly of livestock but also, especially in the south and southwest, of growing sorghum, pearl millet, maize (corn), peanuts, rice and cotton. A large part of the economic activity of the country is funded by international aid.
Burkina – is a landlocked country in west Africa. It is surrounded by six countries: Mali to the north, Niger to the east, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Côte d'Ivoire to the southwest. The country's capital is Ouagadougou.

  3. Thank you, Stephanie! I appreciate the prayers...I miss him a lot...and the wait is getting harder.

I'm not sure if they know her or not. I saw that some of the volunteers at the orphanage are from Messiah College in PA and that is the college my brother and SIL went to and who they starting taking mission trips through before going into full time ministry. But I thought it was the neatest thing to see this post and have a personal connection to the country...we actually checked into adopting from there ourselves but were discouraged by the requirements and how few adoptions have been done in recent years.

  5. These precious children bring a tear to my eyes. I will be praying for them also. I'm saddened that not very many adoptions are happening here and makes me wonder... where else? Hannah and I will do anything we can to get LOVE animals to these children! God can move mountains and our eyes will be opened.

    Love,
    Courtney
